Panhandle Longleaf Pine The Nature Conservancy is a member of the Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership (GCPEP). GCPEP is an effective, voluntary, landowner collaboration effort of Eglin Air Force Base, The Nature Conservancy, International Paper, Blackwater River State Forest, the Northwest Florida Water Management District and National Forests in Alabama and Florida. Together these partners manage more than 845,000 acres.

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance is an organization committed to protecting and preserving the natural resources of Choctawhatchee River and Bay, while encouraging sustainable development. It is an umbrella group that finds area residents, developers, educators, community groups and anyone else who wants to keep a healthy economy and be good stewards of the natural heritage of Choctawhatchee River Basin.

Three Rivers Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc. 5230 Willing Street Milton, Florida 32570. The Three Rivers Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization set up to conserve the Natural Resources and to improve the overall economic condition of Rural and Urban citizens. The Council is composed of representatives from the County Commissions, Soil and Water Conservation Districts and three members-at-large in each of the following Counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Washington, and Holmes Counties in Florida. The Mission of the Three Rivers Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc., is to provide technological information and funds to Rural and Urban decision makers that will improve Economic, Environmental and Social Needs in West Florida.


FL Panhandle Beachfront Preserved These 2.9 acres in Walton County will become part of Stallworth Lake Preserve. The property will be managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, which also funded the project through its Habitat Conservation Program in conjunction with the general revenue of Walton County.

Conecuh National Forest: This page provides general forest information and recreation opportunities.

US Forest Service- Conecuh National Forest. The National Forests in Alabama are comprised of four proclaimed Forests which are the William B. Bankhead the Conecuh, the Talladega NF and Tuskegee. These four National Forests have over 660,000 acres and account for three percent of the state's land area. However, they presents 28 percent of the available land base for public recreation. The National Forests in Alabama are managed by the Forest Service for multiple uses.
